Making the Maps
Note: when attempting to make a level 2, 3, 4 map you have a very high chance of getting a map lower than the level you tried to make.
MAP MAKING SUCCESS PERCENTAGES
Map making since the New Era Conquest Patch has greatly decreased the success rate for high level maps and the obtaining of high level treasures (from high level maps).
When making LEVEL 4 maps:
lvl 4 = 10%
lvl 3 = 20%
lvl 2 = 30%
lvl 1 = 40%

lvl 3 = 14%
lvl 2 = 27%
lvl 1 = 59%

Treasure Hunter; Barcelona City - NPC who makes/ puts together treasure maps
Adventurer Karkou; Barcelona City - NPC who separates made maps back into Map Pieces
Antique Collector; Barcelona City - NPC who Exchanges many level 4 treasures into Exact Apparatus. Apparatus are are necessary to produce level 12 Ships
Special person appointed by the Appraisal Organization; Barcelona City - NPC who provides various "proofs" for your treasures. The better the treasure the more proof points you will receive. Proofs are used only for Fleet/Guild tasks, and can not be exchanged.

Please note: To create all weapons and uniforms which require treasures as a component, you must "learn" the drawings first.
So I suggest you learn the drawing then collect all the treasure items and materials.
Map Pieces
•Slate

Recommended (ie. minimum) amount of map pieces you can use to create a map
•Use 6 Identical pieces + $54,000 silver = Level 1 Map
•Use 12 Identical pieces + $216,000 silver = A chance of a Level 2 Map
•Use 24 Identical pieces + $864,000 silver = A chance of a Level 3 Map
•Use 50 Identical pieces + $3,750,000 silver = A chance of a Level 4 Map
•Use 80 Identical pieces + $9,600,000 silver = A chance of a Level 5 Map
You CAN make a map with more than the recommended pieces, but it will cost more.
Theories on how to increase your map making success rate:
•One theory is that a map will be more successful if you use one or 2 more pieces than the minimum. Example; using 51 map pieces to make a level 4 map.
•Another theory purports you will have better success if you have high amity with Barcelona.
•Another theory purports you will have better success if there are no other people/characters present when you attempt to make a map.
•Another theory purports you will have better success if your character's profession is Treasure Hunter.
I have no data that supports any of these theories IMHO they are all false.
(read discussion thread for players confirmation or refute) !
Tips/stuff to know about making maps
•The only 2 maps which guarantee the treasure to be at the same level as the map are level 1 and level 5
•Double Drop does NOT affect either map making or map finding, just as double Exp does not affect Rare Lit, Lost Docs, or Treasure Finders Drawings.
Finding the Treasure:
Level 1 maps indicate treasure location by Default.
Level 2, 3 and 4 maps can be Authenticated at the Map Authenticator. once authenticated the map will permanently display the treasure location. (you can find the treasure with out authenticating - but obviously you would need to recognize where the map for)
Go to the city, port or suburb where the authenticated treasure map indicates and press the treasure search button "Left-click to search for treasures" You can find it in the Command Interface (Ctrl + A) > On Land. Once clicked it should say "Right Location, Try Again" all you do then is compare your treasure map to the mini map or big map. When you are close to the treasure, it will tell you "Something is strange in the [west / east / north / south]" Take small steps. You should find this treasure fairly quickly. If it tells you: "There seams to be nothing here" then you got the wrong port, city or suburb.
Notes:
•The treasure finding button uses 20 SP per click
•Some level 2, 3 and 4 treasures will spawn Bosses, all you need to do is kill the boss and his drop will be the treasure. Treasures buried in cities and ports are not guarded by monsters.

Level 1: Cheap to make, but nothing really great besides the drawings
Player Made cannons-seems to be anywhere from 20 to 30 of them, level 5-7.
Potions-Healing potions, SP potions, and Incantia.
HE and Shrapnel ammo boxes-5k compressed ammo
Dragon Drawings-Weapon Drawings seemingly
Sailor summoning flag (recover 50 sailors every 10 seconds for one minute, 1 use)
Level 2: Good Return for Money Invested on these
Jewelry refining stones-Crude through flawless-agates through black diamonds.
Change Charms: Dolphin/Shark 7 days for most, some found are unlimited.
Cannon Operator Ring
Power, Blazingflame, Spirit Crystal
Bloodthirsty Magical Stone
Seawitch Ore
(Phase 2) skill book / scroll 3 hour Scrolls-gives 10k exp every 10 seconds for 3 hours, runs even when logged off
